Greetings, Explorers -
April has come and gone before we could blink👀
With our Deep Dive ‘25 taking off as I write you this newsletter, much of our capacity late Spring/early Summer will be focused on our weekly Deep Dive Breathwork Ceremonies for Deep Dive registrants, public yoga classes, and private Explorer sessions.
That means this months’ newsletter will be shorter (but just as sweet!😉) - AND - we’ve got some fun shares we’re stoked to deliver to you, right here - check it out:

JAL NETI
the art of guiding water from one nostril to the other through the nasal cavity and clearing the path off of impurities in the process.
I was first introduced to the practice of Jal Neti, commonly known in the West as “Neti Potting”, while in India almost ten years ago for my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training. Here is a photo of my first try at Jal Neti, or Neti Pot:

I only share practices here that I find beneficial myself and oh goodness - Neti Potting has been super amazing! So much so that I believe my family may have tired of hearing about it because I haven’t stopped raving about it since I began regularly Neti Potting a year or two ago.
I first decided to try Neti Potting more regularly when I was feeling quite an imbalance; specifically in my nasal passages. I recalled this practice I was introduced to in India and thought I’d give it a whirl.
Not only did it help clear my nasal passages, one of my favorite benefits of Jal Neti is the sense of clarity I feel in my head and my mind after doing it. Its’s truly cleansing, purifying and has become a go-to in my toolkit.
If Jal Neti is new to you, I’ve shared a link to learn more about it, below. Even if you’re familiar with it, you may want to give this article a read - quite interesting! Once you’ve explored it more, if you’re intrigued and want to try it out, you may consult your doctor before giving it a whirl.
Happy discovering, Explorers!💫

NEXT SILENT SUNRISE HIKING MEDITATION:
FRIDAY, MAY 9, 5:45AM
Check out all those happy faces above!☝🏼 A previous Sunrise Hiking Meditation with the glow of the early morning city lights behind us❤️
Join us this month! Our fourth Sunrise Hiking Meditation will be held Friday, May 9 at 5:45am.
What to Expect
The hike is roughly 5 miles, roundtrip (out and back).
We will hike northeast & east, towards the rising sun, at an incline up a large gravel road.
Participants are welcome to join for as long and far as they're able to make it. If anyone would like/needs to turn around before the group, that is welcome.
Format
May shift depending on how we’re feeling, but likely we’ll welcome:
Time to connect in conversation on our hike up.
Time for stillness; taking in the environment, the sunrise, and the view.
Perhaps some chanting or other practices we’re feeling drawn to that morning.
Silent hiking meditation on our way down (we’ll explain more on this at the hike).
THE VILLAGE GATHERING:
practicing social health together
Sunday, May 18, 1pm
True North Yoga
One of our regular Sunrise Hikers, Yogi and friend, Jason, is hosting this amazing gathering through his work with The Village. Maybe I’ll see you there, as I’m going to try to make it myself🤍
The gathering is a lightly structured social space and the idea comes from an observation that any of our social maladies come from a lack of practicing connection skills. This class is an expression of this idea - a space to practice our Social Health together.
Just like our yoga practices strengthen our bodies and minds, social health practices strengthen our connection skills. And as we feel the benefits of our yoga practice during the day when we gracefully lift something heavy, or quickly recover from losing balance, so too will our social health skills show up for us in awkward encounters in a store or on the street, or in a challenging relationship with a close friend or family.
If this feels in alignment with you, show up - it’s a free gathering for teachers and students at True North Yoga!
