What is Yoga Nidra?
👉🏻Nidra translated means sleep. This practice is also known as "non-sleep, deep rest". A guided journey through the body to help relax, reset, and recharge.
It is said that 45 minutes of yoga nidra is the equivalent of 2-3 hours of restful, restorative sleep.

Let this hour welcome you to reset your day, your week, and your nervous system.
Where will we be?

👉🏻When you arrive to Memorial Park (900 N 6th Street) and are looking at the playground (looking east) we'll do our best to setup to the left of the swings and playground near sun and shade so you can choose where you'd like to land for practice.

What to expect:
👉🏻Breath practice and/or guided movement may be incorporated, and you can for sure count on a solid 30+ minute yoga nidra practice followed by 5+ minutes in savasana (rest) before our intentional group closing.

Optional items to bring:
👉🏻Your own mat/towel/blanket
👉🏻A bulky pillow/bolster can feel nice behind the knees
👉🏻An eye pillow to cover the eyes can help the focus land inward as you journey through the landscape of your body.
👉🏻You're also welcome to come just as you are, without any props - lie in the grass, in nature.

👉🏻No need to register; simply show up so you can slow down and reset your week!

Cost:
👉🏻This is a donation-based offering. Suggested donation is $10-$30, but please, just pay what you can! Donations accepted via cash or Venmo.

It takes a village. 🏘🏨🏫🏤

For me this past week my village showed up in so many ways - and I'm so grateful🥰

Nursing an injury, I chose to rest my body and for almost an entire week abstained from practicing or teaching vinyasa yoga. Man, it was hard!🫣

Aaaand, so many amazing teachers stepped in to teach my classes. 🙏🏻
Bodyworkers showed up with offers of massage, acupuncture, and space holding.🙏🏻
My husband did more around the house so I could rest my body more. 🙏🏻

Countless epsom salt soaks🛀🏼
Lots of heat🔥
And just a lot more slowing down in general and listening even more closely to my body.👂🧘‍♀️💗

This body. 💫

Getting almost 100% past this recent injury is a reminder of how much I love to move my body. 🤸🏼‍♂️

And even when I'm not intentionally moving my body, it's working for me. Like magic; it's just functioning; living, breathing, being. Without effort, it's taking care of me. 🥰

Thank you, village.

Thank you, breath.
Thank you, being.

Daylight Saving Time is a thing we do.
A human-made shift of the clock.
An agreement to move time forward.

🕚🕚🕚🕚🕚🕚🕚🕚🕚🕚🕚🕚🕚🕚🕚🕚

It’s not the sun changing.☀️
Not the earth rushing.🌍
Not nature asking us to hurry.🏃🏼‍♀️

And yet… we can choose how we meet it.

What if this “spring forward” became an invitation?
An invitation to step outside more often.
To feel the evening light on your skin.
To walk without headphones.
To watch the sky soften into dusk.

When we immerse ourselves in nature, something inside us recalibrates.
The nervous system exhales.🌬️
The mind quiets.🧠
The heart remembers its rhythm.💗

The more deeply we connect to nature,
the more gently we connect to Self.

As the days stretch longer, may we welcome the extra light not as something to fill with more doing — but as space for being.
More noticing.
More breathing.
More presence.

Let the light outside remind you of the light within you.
Notice it.
Nurture it.

This morning we celebrated one year of monthly sunrise hiking mediation offerings with a special mini cacao ceremony☕️🥰📿

It’s been such a gift this past year to share this simple practice of moving in nature with the sun as it greets the day.🌄

This is something we all have access to; any day, any time of the year. We don’t need an invitation or a group to wake with the sun and convene in nature.

And!….it’s been very special getting to know new friends, and connecting more closely in community as we connect on our hike out. 🥰
