“Trauma is not what happens to us,
but what we hold inside in the absence of an empathetic witness.”
– Dr. Peter Levine, Developer of Somatic Experiencing®
SE™ is nervous system regulation and a gentle body-based approach to healing, allowing individuals to find freedom from stuck energies (traumas) in the body which can lead to dis-ease (disease) and bodily discomfort if left unprocessed.
Through this work there is a rewiring of the nervous system (nervous system regulation) allowing for stuck-ness such as intergenerational trauma, long-buried wounds, false beliefs, and other experiences the physical body has been holding onto in an effort to protect us, to dissipate and release (discharge).
Over time, the journey of SE is a homecoming. Coming back to our center, back to our truth, back to our Selves.
Extremely gentle yet truly transformational. Each session allows the individual to go deeper.
D'Arcy Valverde - The Heart Space Center Founder & Guide - is not a therapist. As such, she does not do this gentle yet deep work with individuals who are actively suicidal, unless they are also under the care of a licensed therapist. This is in an effort to best support the needs of the individuals she works with, in a holistic way, to ensure they get the best care possible.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM AN SE SESSION
We will begin with orienting (presence-ing) into the moment, and into our space together. It is in this container, present with another nervous system (your Heart Space Center Guide) to hold space and help guide you, so that the body can process and discharge stuck energies (traumas, emotions, feelings). We may move in and out of stuck places, invite slow, gentle movements into the session, and dialogue about energetic shifts, releases, and what else may come up to accompany the arousal and discharge that occurs. For some, exploring into body sensations can be too much, and we honor that. If and when this is the case, we will approach our processing through alternative methods, equally as effective. A gentle yet profound approach to healing.
