Greetings, Explorers -
This month of June is full of so much LOVE!!!! There is much happening in June that we want to name before we dive in here:
Juneteenth - June 19th - honoring and celebrating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans.š«
Summer Solstice - June 21 - celebrating the sun as we get to enjoy the most daylight in a day, in the year!š
International Day of Yoga - June 21 - in itsā 12th year, itĀ aims to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga.š§š¼āāļø
Prideā¦.all month long - celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community. š
Aaaand, last but not least, weāre celebrating US! - The Heart Space Center turned TWO on June 1!āš¼
Itās so special to have something to celebrate. One of my dear old friends since I was a teenager always finds an excuse to celebrate becauseā¦.why not? Ā She used to have us plan not just get togethers around our birthdays, but proclaiming that the entire MONTH of our birthdays we should be celebrated because, yes -Ā we are fabulous.Ā AndĀ so are you! June is delivering us so many reasons to celebrate, so, letās do it!
Of course I feel compelled to share a bit more about the short two years that The Heart Space Center has existed. Itās our second birthday and already, SO MUCH has shifted, changed, rearranged, closed and opened. Weāre celebrating it all!
When beginning The Heart Space Center I had a clear vision of what I wanted to create. I also had a plan to let it all go, allowing it to unfold and evolve as the universe intended.
And it has!
The one piece that still feels 100% true is our mission statement:
To create a safe and nurturing environment for individuals to explore their inner Selves through an approach that encompasses holistically mind, body, and spirit.
This is my continued mission and intent for all of my offerings and for all of The Heart Space Center Explorers.
With a professional background rooted much in nonprofit work, the mission statement has always felt like such an important piece of āthe workā as it is theĀ driving forceĀ behind the work. As such there is a need to come back to it regularly, as a reminder -Ā this is why weāre here.Ā This is why we do what we do.
I feel the same about The Heart Space Centerās mission.
What isĀ YOURĀ mission statement?
We often set intention when we begin a yoga practice, a breathwork ceremony, a ritual.
Why not set intention - a mission statement, if you will - for our day-to-day lives?
Of course the mission statement is often revisited. And as our yoga practice teaches us we want to try not to attach to it; being open to it shifting, changing, ebbing and flowing.
When we revisit our mission we have opportunity to gauge. To listen deeply within:
Is this mission still true to my heart?
Have I already succeeded in my mission? Is it now time to create a new mission?
Have I stumbled and lost sight of my missionā¦.one that still feels alive and true within?ā¦.if so, revisiting your mission is a reminder to come back from a place where you may be ready to reignite your mission with new perspectiveā¦time, wisdom, energy.
Just like our meditation practice, itās a continual returning. A coming back. A remembering.
And first, we must get clear on what our mission is!
As we move into the Summer Solstice, I invite you to create a ritual, calling you into your own mission statement. Iāve included a little Summer Solstice ritual within this newsletter if youād like to explore this inquiry further. More on where to find this practice within, in the overview of this monthās newsletter, herešš¼Ā What weāre getting into this month:

With Gratitude and MUCH Love,

Nidra translated means, āsleepā. Also known as non-sleep, deep rest, Yoga Nidra is a guided journey through the body to help relax, reset, and recharge.
They say 45 minutes of yoga nidra is the equivalent of 2-3 hours of restful, restorative sleep.
A midday, midweek reset is a powerful way to invite ourselves to recharge. Slowing down and offering our bodies and nervous systems intentional time to recalibrate is as important as sleep. And often it can help us not only be more present in life, but also thrive more in what it is we're doing in life.
Join me in the park for a donation-based guided yoga nidra practice to reset your day, your week, and your nervous system.
Breath practice and/or guided movement may be incorporated, and you can for sure count on a solid 30+ minute yoga nidra practice followed by 5+ minutes in savasana (rest) before our intentional group closing.
No need to register, just show up!
Optional items to bring:
Your own mat/towel/blanket and any props you might like to welcome your body to be cozy and comfortable as you lay in nature.
Often a bulky pillow/bolster can feel nice behind the knees
An eye pillow to cover the eyes can help the focus land inward as you journey through the landscape of your body.
You're also welcome to come just as you are, without any props - lie in the grass, in nature.
Suggested donations are $10-$30 and are welcome in cash or viaĀ Venmo.
Where weāll set up:
When you arrive to Memorial Park (900 N 6th Street) and are looking at the playground (looking east) Iāll do my best to setup to the left of the swings and playground near sun and shade so you can choose where you'd like to land for practice.
This offering has already ended.

"The deeper we can relax without losing awareness, the more we can begin to feel the flow of prana that yoga promises."
ā Amba Stapleton, Creator of PranassageĀ®
My 60-minute, 90-minute and 2-hour Pranassage bodywork sessions will be availableĀ for a discounted rate*Ā only a little while longer.
Why?
Because Iām officially a certified Pranassage bodywork practitioner, after graduating on June 4!š©š¼āš
Iāve thoroughly enjoyed sharing this profound practice with Explorers interested in diving into this bodywork technique with me.
My discounted rates will continue to be offered until I head out on my Summer travels, June 29 - so make sure to get in for your discounted session soon!
What to expect from a Pranassage session:
In the practice of Pranassage the receiver (you) will be mostly passive as the practitioner (me) will welcome your body into various shapes and stretches. Pressure will be applied through the weight of the practitionerās hands, feet - sometimes even their entire body.
Throughout the entire session the practitioner will be checking in with the receiver to ensure pressure is right, asking, ādo you need more or less?ā. Simultaneously, receiver is invited at the beginning of the session to communicate throughout the session if theyād like more pressure, less pressure, etc. As such, Pranassage is a great way to practice open communication, tuning into the throat chakra and using the voice.
Book your discounted session* while they're still available via the following links:
Please note:Ā if you havenāt worked with The Heart Space Center before, and are booking a Pranassage session, please follow the link in your session calendar invitation to complete intake paperwork 24+ hours prior to your session.
*This promotion has already ended, but you can still book a Pranassage at the links above, at our current rates.

A Summer Solstice Ritual: Creating Your Mission Statement
What youāll need:
Paper
Something to write with
Space outside, in the grass
Knowing the June 21 solstice marks the most sunlight in a day, within the year, give yourself time on that Sunday, June 21 to feel your feet on the earth, outside. The skin of your souls to the blades of grass and the dirt beneath. You might wiggle your toes, saying hello to the earth. Feel your feet rooted and grounded. Solid.
With arms down to your sides, hands outside of your hips, open your palms and allow them to face forward.
Soften your shoulders, and lift your heart, ever so slightly.
If it feels okay, close your eyes and let your head fall back, towards the sky.
With feet rooted directly in the earth and heart reaching skyward towards the sun, invite your awareness to tune inward. Notice body sensation. Breath sensation. Mind sensation. Whatās happening in the landscape of your body as you begin to plug in more to Mother Nature? Tuning into the shifting of the rhythm of the earth?
You might take a few clearing breaths - deep inhales and big exhales, sighing out of your mouth.
And then just notice your inner landscape as you welcome sun to beat down on your heart, and your heart to radiate up toward the sun.
Place your hands on your heart and ask yourselfā¦.from that deep place within; that place of ancient wisdom, āWhat is my mission?ā What do you want to offer? What do you want to receive? Create? Manifest?
Take as much time as you need to get clear on your mission. Once you feel clear, allow your own personal mission statement to come through your heart. Speak it out loud. Write it on paper.
Place your written mission statement on the earth in front of your feet.
Kneel in the grass, and place your hands on the earth. Offer gratitude to the earth for holding you through this life. For supporting your body as you deeply explore, inquire, and create. Offer gratitude to the sun for itsā radiance, itsā light, itsā warmth - offering light to see and heat to nourish. Offer gratitude to all of Mother Earth for all she allows you to experience in this life. Finally, offer gratitude to yourSelf for continuing to show up for You. For taking time to inquire deeply. For making space to create. To manifest. To live with purpose and intention.
Take your written mission statement and place it somewhere special in your home. Every 3-6 months check back in to revisit your mission statement. Perhaps this one is clear and completeā¦.then you may make time and space to create a new mission statement; inviting purpose and intention. Perhaps this one has gotten dusty and still feels relevant but needs some tending-to. Maybe something else. Whatever the case, revisiting your mission statement is a key piece to bringing your mission to life. So, revisit it. Tend to it. Remember it.
Again, itās like our meditation practice. No matter how much our minds wander, or no matter how long in between sits, we just keep coming back. Returning to the cushion, the mantra, the breath, the body. The Mission. A constant returning. A continual remembering.
